Keyed: Locks with a key from the outside and turns from the inside—ideal for exterior or secure interior doors. Privacy: Locks from the inside with a turn; no key required. Commonly used for bedrooms and bathrooms. Passage: Latches but does not lock—used for rooms where privacy isn’t needed, like hallways or closets. Dummy: Decorative handles that don’t turn or latch. Used on fixed doors like pantry or French doors.
