NUT, THE KNOT OF LIGHT Nut is the Valencian word for ‘knot’ and is thus the perfect name for this delightful, twisting pendant designed by Ray Power and Mariví Calvo. Reminiscent of a granny knot, the Nut lamp’s fetching form is made by tying a knot (in a manner of speaking): it is the result of twisting and looping a piece of wood veneer. Two designs for the Nut pendant are practicable and are determined by the direction of torsion—that is how the wood veneer is twisted.
