Thunderbird 2 with Firefly1:144 Scale Plastic Model Kit with Metal Parts Thunderbird 2 is International Rescue’s iconic heavy-duty transporter. Capable of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) and speeds of up to 6,000 mph, this formidable aircraft delivers specialised rescue equipment to disaster zones via one of six interchangeable container pods. This large-scale injection-moulded plastic model kit includes Pod 6 and its high-powered cargo vehicle, Firefly. Piloted by Virgil Tracy, Thunderbird 2 appeared in all but one episode of the classic Thunderbirds TV series. Kit features include: Removable Pod 6 with opening front ramp and fully detailed interior Spring-release mechanism for pod deployment Turned metal support legs – display Thunderbird 2 in elevated, grounded, or inflight position In-scale Firefly pod vehicle with rubber tracks and movable dozer blade Optional decals representing the various studio models used in the original TV series and feature films Full colour illustrated instructions and detailed painting guide Some sub-assemblies are screw-together (screws included) Designed in the UK, engineered in China using advanced CAD processes Moulded in grey and clear styrene Over 380 parts Dimensions when assembled: Thunderbird 2: Length 53 cm, Width 39 cm Firefly: Length 10.3 cm, Width 5.7 cm Additional pods coming later with alternative payloads enabling other pod vehicles to be modelled.
