New Balance continues the return of the 1000, an archival running style originally released in 1999, with this new "Dark Ice Wine" colorway. A comprehensive homage to all things Y2K, the 1000’s innovative streamlined design features a performance-inspired honeycomb mesh upper in black mesh overlaid with swooping metallic purple and silver leather panels, for a tech-inspired look that is equal parts sleek and rugged. Black mesh accents hit the heel and tongue while a silver jewel-like 'N' logo on the sides, purple embroidery on the tongue tag and 1000 on the front quarter handle the branding. The sculpted midsole features ABZORB cushioning in the heel and forefoot, with a Stability Web midfoot shank and black rubber outsole.
